Yoga for Women's Health

I specialize in yoga for women's health, supporting menstrual health, fertility, pregnancy loss and beyond. Unfortunately, I have personal experience dealing with infertility, failed treatment and miscarriage, and I understand the rollercoaster of emotions, stress and challenges that occur with infertility.

While studying yoga for women’s health, I instantly fell in love with feminine and fertility-focused yoga knowing that I was meant to support others with this work!

I’m passionate about sharing therapeutic, grounding practices to help women cope with stress and strong emotions, as stress can negatively affect the delicate balance of hormones necessary for optimal health.

Yoga for Healthy Menstruation

The negative effects of stress are reaching epidemic proportions in our modern lives, and related to women's high stress levels is the rise in menstrual disorders and infertility. Reducing stress and learning how to be more stress resilient is imperative to initiate healing. Managing your stress levels throughout the month is important, but even more so when your energy is compromised during your bleeding time.

Restorative Yoga

I believe that the relaxation and stress management tools of restorative yoga can provide an antidote to stress. Restorative yoga, guided meditation, and breathing practices help to calm the mind and nervous system, relieving chronic stress. When our body relaxes instead of constricts, our entire being integrates – mind, body, breath, and spirit. This approach to yoga honours the beauty of stillness just as much as action. A Feminine Approach to Yoga

Practicing a feminine approach to yoga embodies cyclical living, how to respond, move and flow to the four energetic phases of a woman's monthly cycle. It's a creative and empowering process of adapting and designing a yoga practice from day to day. Just as the moon waxes and wanes, so does the energy of our body-mind. This cyclical approach to yoga is an interplay of light and dark, yin and yang, masculine and feminine. Where there is movement there also needs to be the opposite - stillness. This style of yoga supports women throughout monthly cycles as well as the various unique transitions of our feminine lives (menstrual health, hormonal balance, fertility, prenatal, postnatal, menopause and beyond). As a woman every time you step onto your yoga mat, your practice may be different. It's this understanding that will ultimately enhance your health, wellbeing, and connection with your body and the cycles of nature.

Fertility yoga is powerful! A yoga session designed specifically to support women experiencing infertility offers a whole toolkit of powerful practices to work with. Whether choosing natural conception, medically assisted cycles, or preparing for assisted reproductive technologies, yoga can provide support and nourishment for fertility.
